High performance.
Even at very low pressure differences.
The steam turbines from ENERGIFY, equipped with their special rotary piston unit (rotary piston expander), are designed for maximum steam efficiency. With ENERGIFY, companies can achieve profitable in-house power generation even at low pressures starting from 0.5 bar/g.
With ENERGIFY, saving electricity becomes simple and reliable.
The systems are designed for use across different industries and can be flexibly adapted to specific on-site requirements. ENERGIFY integrates seamlessly into any steam network, is compatible with various types of steam generation — saturated steam, wet steam, and superheated steam — and reduces external electricity purchases without disrupting the production process.

How ENERGIFY works
„To ensure uninterrupted operation, our system always operates in bypass mode. The basic setup is as follows: Steam or any other gas is expanded to a lower pressure level in a rotary piston expander. This generates mechanical energy, which is transferred via a shaft to an asynchronous generator that then feeds electricity into the low-voltage grid.”

Frequently asked questions.
We are happy to answer them.
ENERGIFY is a special low-pressure expansion unit based on a special rotary piston unit (rotary piston expander). It enables steam used in industrial applications to be efficiently converted into electrical energy at appropriate points in the steam network.
High performance even at minimal pressure differences and high availability due to robust and low-maintenance design.
How can I find out whether ENERGIFY can be used to increase efficiency in my application?
By completing the request form, we can carry out initial performance calculations for you.
In addition, we would be pleased to arrange on-site appointments with you and provide an initial assessment of the potential implementation of ENERGIFY in your entire steam process.
What distinguishes ENERGIFY from other steam expansion technologies for power generation?
ENERGIFY can use steam whose pressure or pressure difference, is too low, e. g. at pressure reducing valves, to operate a conventional steam turbine economically.
What are ENERGIFY’s requirements?
Saturated steam, superheated steam, or wet steam with temperatures of 200 °C can be used. The steam must be free of metal particles, dust, chemical impurities, air, etc.
The following connection conditions apply to the currently designed system types:
- Power connection: 400 V, 3Ph, 50 Hz
- Compressed air/control air supply for drives
Connection to fresh steam and exhaust steam line (T 200 °C, p 15 bar/g).
Is it possible to expand other gases besides water vapor?
Yes, other gases besides steam can also be expanded. The maximum permissible pressure must be observed. Furthermore, the gases should not be chemically aggressive.
In which pressure ranges can ENERGIFY operate?
This depends on the operating conditions at the user’s site, e.g., the design of a condenser, a downstream steam application, and the hydraulic conditions of the downstream piping system.
The maximum inlet pressure is 15 bar, with a minimum pressure difference of 0.5 bar.
What is the assumed service life for ENERGIFY?
ENERGIFY is rated for approximately 20 years of operation.
What are the estimated investment costs for the module?
Investment costs depend on the performance class of ENERGIFY. The performance class is determined by the given steam parameters. A payback period of 3 years is possible. We would be pleased to provide you with a non-binding quote.
How much are the life cycle costs for ENERGIFY?
In principle, follow-up costs are limited to annual maintenance costs. These costs amount to approximately 3% of the total investment.
Is it possible to receive remuneration for the electricity generated by ENERGIFY in accordance with the KWKG (German Combined Heat and Power Act)?
Yes, depending on the primary energy source used and the heat utilisation, a feed-in tariff can currently be applied for the electricity supplied by ENERGIFY. ENERGIFY alone is not a CHP plant, but in combination with a steam boiler, a CHP plant can be created.
ENERGIFY generates electricity from steam volumes, such as exhaust steam or steam conversion, which previously could not be used to generate electricity. This electricity can replace conventionally generated electricity. ENERGIFY thus reduces CO₂ emissions that would have been produced during the generation of the electricity it replaces.
